"A unique Valkyrie Armor empowered by four elements (fire, water, earth, and air), Hjorthrimul was believed to be lost forever sometime during Golden Magic Age until it recently rediscovered and subsequently inherited by a young witch and Valkyrie-in-training named Molly McIntyre."
― Description of Hjorthrimul Armor.[1]

Hjorthrimul is a Valkyrie Armor that specializes in elemental spear combat. Whoever wields the Armor shall take the title of Hjorthrimul the Elemental Fury Valkyrie. The Armor once belonged to a Golden Magic Age-era Master Valkyrie named Ragnhild McIntyre; after its unexpected 200 years of disappearance, it eventually rediscovered and subsequently inherited by her little sister Molly McIntyre shortly after being freed from Curse of Time.

Descriptions and Characteristics[]

Hjorthrimul is a midnight blue Valkyrie Armor with dim gray and gold plating originally forged from Blue Eldthur bone-based Solais Metal, though it has since re-forged with Crystaltail Dragon scales-based variant of the alloy by the time Molly inherited it, improving its already formidable capabilities further in the process. The Armor is passed down throughout generations of McIntyre family and once bonded to said family's bloodline via. a near-unbreakable blood seal as per the custom of Valkyrie Corps. at the time of its construction. Hjorthrimul eventually came to Ragnhild McIntyre's possession during Golden Magic Age and disappeared along with her in the aftermath of the incident revolving a monster known as Ghost Witch at Luna Nova. The armor hasn't been seen ever since then and it became a rumor.

The truth behind Hjorthrimul's disappearance eventually revealed when Molly and Ursula rediscovered it during the summer holiday in 2017: Shortly after assisting Luna Nova professors in subduing Ghost Witch and subsequently separating its splintered corrupted half from its human half which then sealed away in Horologium Chamber, Ragnhild spent the remainder of her life figuring out both the way to break Hjorthrimul's blood seal and alternate means to free those who afflicted with Curse of Time with aid of her colleagues from both Thapoli and Valkyrie Corps. all to atone for her unintentional role in Ghost Witch' rampage back then: Ghost Witch's true identity was in fact, Ragnhild's little sister — Molly McIntyre herself — and that her corruption being the result of recklessly attempting to start fresh with Horologium Clock's Time Magic in hopes of both able to live a happy life at Luna Nova and importantly, capable enough to be Ragnhild's immediate successor because of the latter no longer able to fulfill her duty as Elemental Fury Valkyrie at its fullest after sustaining crippling injuries from her last battle. Despite their failure in the latter endeavor, Ragnhild and her friends' experiments with Time Magic within one of crystals of Horologium Chamber's Great Clock the Elemental Fury Valkyrie stole from Luna Nova nonetheless allowed them to foresee Molly's complete restoration in distant future in addition of the method to put themselves into Time Slip so their memories pertaining her won't be periodically reset like anyone else due to the latter's Curse of Time. And so, Ragnhild decided to hid Hjorthrimul Bracelet in McIntyre family's ancestral home in Norway, dutifully safeguarding it until then, even in death.

When McIntyre sisters made amends with one another during their eventual heartfelt reunion, Ragnhild, now a ghost who capable of moving between mortal plane and land of the dead thanks to both her magic which honed to the same caliber as Jennifer the Witch and desire to watch over her last living relative, revealed to Molly that she had successfully broken Hjorthrimul's blood seal thus allowing the latter to freely choose whether to pass the Armor and title of Elemental Fury Valkyrie to another bloodline. To her pleasant surprise, Molly decided to take up the title and armor of Hjorthrimul, having made up her mind to honor her late sister's wish and understood that Ragnhild wanted the best for her from start. Thus, after her 200 years of disappearance, Elemental Fury Valkyrie returned at long last.

Skills & Abilities[]

As with other Valkyrie Armors, Hjorthrimul was designed to endow the wearer with increased strength, speed, and magical capabilities. Made from Solais Metal, the Armor can withstand magical and physical attacks and its power can be used even in Ley Lines-free areas. The Armor is also empowered by the wearer's fuel spirit (energy generated by one's emotions and feelings), with its circuit-like green meridians glow upon being charged with the said energy. Combat parameters-wise, Hjorthrimul somewhat emphasize speed over power and defense which otherwise medium level.

For combat, since the Armor specializes in elemental spear combat, the wearer has greater advantage when using spear (ex. Valkyrie Blade in its spear configuration) as Hjorthrimul improves her performance with such weapon, especially in conjunction of elemental spells.

Hjorthrimul comes with Blades of Elements — four floating shortswords imbued with elemental magic — which the wearer can manipulate via. telepathy to perform defensive and/or offensive maneuvers, either separately or combined at the pommel into a huge shuriken. In addition of projecting elemental blasts and enhancing the wearer's elemental spells, the Blades' useful quirk is further bolstering the Armor's elemental resistance tenfold as long as they still intact; severely damaging, if not destroying them outright will cease such defense boost. Fortunately, the wearer can simply will damaged Blades of Elements to repair themselves regardless of their severity.

As with other Valkyrie Armors, Hjorthrimul can unlock a boost in mobility that is unleashed by sprouting a pair of mechanical wings called Blade-Maiden Wings which also provide powered flight without need of magic broom. By imbuing elemental magic of Blades of Elements into the wings' energy feathers, they can be deployed as devastating slashing weapon as well as shield to block incoming attacks. Being completely re-forged with Crystaltail Dragon scales-based Solais Metal not only improved its overall stats further, but also endowed it with the ability to temporarily assume more powerful alternate forms upon exposed and/or influenced by powerful magic and feelings from the wearer and/or allies not unlike Elemental Valkyrie Armors and Geirdriful albeit in inferior scale. Overall, it is one of remarkable Valkyrie Armors ever forged.

Weapons & Equipment[]

In addition of the wearer's own equipment such as Valkyrie Blade and Magic Wand, Hjorthrimul possesses following equipment:

  • Hjorthrimul Bracelet: The vital part of Hjorthrimul Armor which acts as both its dormant form and summoning trinket. It takes the appearance of metallic dim gray and golden bracelet with thicker edge as well as an oval symbol bearing matching color scheme and an 8-pointed star inside. This part magically linked with the rest of the Armor that normally stored in pocket dimension when not used.
  • Blades of Elements: Four floating shortswords which the wearer can manipulate via. telepathy. Each of them imbued with elemental magic (red sword being fire, blue sword water, yellow sword earth, and green sword wind) which can be deployed in offensive or defensive manner, most notably providing elemental resistance to the Armor so long they remain intact.
  • Blade-Maiden Wings: A pair of mechanical wings whose feathers made of pure magic energy and drastically increase the wearer's mobility and provide powered flight without need of magic broom upon being deployed. By imbuing their energy feathers with elemental magic of aforementioned Blades of Elements, the wings can be deployed for combat in addition of gaining performance boost.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • In legend, Hjörþrimul is one of the valkyries, according to the Nafnaþulur of Skáldskaparmál.
  • The working name of this Valkyrie Armor is Rota and intended to have ghostly appearance along with charchoal grey and white color scheme. It also intended to have a tattered cape which can turn into mechanical wings called Phantom Wings. The reason of this change was because BSoulstone intended the armor to parallel Molly's Ghost Witch form.
