Lotte Yanson, Valkyrie title Geirskogul, is one of the protagonists of Little Witch Academia: Witches of Midgard. She is a Tuatha demigoddess witch from Finland and current bearer of Geirskogul Armor.
Personality & Character[]
The shy, gentle, and timid yet courageous Lotte was born into Mr. and Mrs. Yanson, a couple who happened to be members of Triskeles of Keiran, a coven of spiritual magic users in Finland founded by the namesake Tuatha Dé Danann who moved there alongside his followers. Yansons owned a magic item shop called L Kiosk passed down for generations whose wares included mundane meals and related products as of modern day era. During her childhood, mundane children who lived near her home made fun of her for coming from a family of witches. However, she found consolation in reading the Night Fall novels and hearing tales about Keiran the Warrior from her grandmother Aoife. Aoife also taught her a special song that can call spirits and faeries and appease them, which Lotte used to have them conjuring a rainbow for her.
One day, Aoife and Mrs. Yanson recognized Lotte's potential through her affinity with faeries and spirits, Wispy who became her familiar in particular, and informed her about 'the force of the blazing sun' passed down through generations of members of Triskeles of Keiran. They asked her to decide whether to inherit such power, warning her the price she would pay for her decision. To their pleasant surprise, Lotte wanted to become the heir of said power like those before her, having inspired by her Tuatha Dé Danann ancestor as well as main characters of Night Fall. Subsequently, Aoife and Mrs. Yanson trained her in magical and martial arts known to Triskeles of Keiran extensively and harshly from the young age as preparation for her upcoming Trial of Keiran the Warrior which would determine her worth after she reached the age of 17, constantly reminding her that she needed to fight as if her life depended on it, as one day it may. Due to her timid personality, Mrs. Yanson worried whether her and Aoife's gruesome training regime proved too much for her daughter at times, yet at the same time amazed by how Lotte pressed on and finally excelled at everything they taught to her.
Lotte later set out to Luna Nova Magical Academy in order to acquire a license of magic tools and thus be able to inherit her family shop as well as learn certain spells she could only learn there. On her way to the academy, she met her would-be roommates Akko and Sucy, and subsequently embroiled in many adventures together. Though she and Sucy later learned about Akko's quest for Seven Words of Arcturus, neither of them had actual involvement in it until Akko disappeared as soon as she learned her idol and mentor Ursula aka. Chariot's dark history, in which she, Sucy, Amanda, Constanze, Jasminka, and Diana set out to look for her. Not long after they reunited with Akko and Diana, she and her friends soon found themselves crash-landed at Arcturus Forest as result of Croix shutting down Ley Lines across the nation with Noir Rod. Recovering from the crash, the seven friends witnessed the fight between Chariot and Croix's out of control Noir Rod that transformed into a draconic abomination. The gang then interfered the fight where Akko casted Shiny Arc to temporarily disable the magitronic beast, saving Chariot and Croix in process. Although not fully understand the situation, Lotte and the rest of the gang nevertheless happy to see Akko finally reconciled and met her idol as she always wanted and eventually, unlocked the Final Word of Seven Words of Arcturus, and claimed the Grand Triskellion before using it both to destroy Noir Rod before it further evolve into an unstoppable beast and restored magic to the world once more, an During the first night of the vacation prior to her second year at Luna Nova, Lotte commenced her very own Trial of Keiran the Warrior at last. The trial was supervised by her parents, Aoife, Jane, Nicholas, and to her surprise, Headmistress Holbrooke who revealed to be her grandmother's best friend from her time as a Luna Nova student. It was when the Finnish witch-in-training learned that 'the force of the blazing sun' Aoife mentioned being none other than the copy of her Tuatha Dé Danann ancestor's namesake weapon. After a difficult fight against the echo of Keiran's nemesis Morganach the Scorching Spear, Lotte, with Wispy on her side and newly awakened divine power she inherited from her Tuatha Dé Danann ancestor, emerged victorious. Finally presented with unmistakable proof of Keiran the Warrior's tales and recalled on Morganach's resemblance to Croix in her human form, Lotte wondered whether Fomorians were survived by their demigod descendants just like Tuatha Dé Danann did. Neither her mother nor Aoife dismissed such possibility. Holbrooke even found the idea of having Fomorian demigod allies much preferable as she sensed the resurgence of supernatural threats their predecessors faced in distant past...

- Tuatha Dé Danann-Human Demigod Physiology: Being the descendant of a lesser Tuatha Dé Danann known as Keiran the Warrior, Lotte is endowed with greater power and physiology than mere mortals. After unlocking her full potential while overcoming Trial of Keiran the Warrior, she can shift from her human guise to her semi-divine visage. While in her true Tuatha Dé Danann form, a layer of yellow, wispy energy enveloped her whole body while her eyes glow in the same color and her hair flared up like fire. Not being purely cosmetic, Lotte's already superior physical and magical capabilities are amplified significantly while in that state.
- Supernatural Strength: Despite her unassuming frame, Lotte's raw bodily strength is deceptively great since unlocking her full potential as a Tuatha Dé Danann-human demigod, able to intercept the might of Morganach's blows on ease while engaging her in melee combat.
- Supernatural Durability: After unlocking her full potential as a Tuatha Dé Danann-human demigod, she can shrug off wounds that would either disable or outright kill a human being.
- Supernatural Mobility: Lotte has become much faster and agile than normal humans since unlocking her full potential as a Tuatha Dé Danann-human demigod. While engaging Morganach in physical combat, she managed to keep up with the equally fast and agile Fomorian warrior.
- Supernatural Reflexes: Lotte's reflexes are significantly improved since unlocking her full potential as a Tuatha Dé Danann-human demigod, which also helped her in engaging the formidable Morganach in physical combat.
- Regenerative Healing Factor: Since unlocking her full potential as a Tuatha Dé Danann-human demigod, Lotte can rapidly heal even serious wounds. Her eyesight has fully restored as the result hence the reason her mother replaced lenses of her favorite glasses so she can continue wearing them.
- Longevity: Thanks to her accelerated healing thanks to her Tuatha Dé Danann heritage, Lotte ages at far slower paces than mere mortals.
- Divine Energy Manipulation: As the descendant of Keiran the Warrior, Lotte possesses divine energy coursing through her very being which she can manipulate for variety of purposes such as augmenting objects by infusing them, improving her magic, and create constructs.
- Energy Aura: In her true semi-divine form, Lotte is surrounded in a layer of yellow, wispy energy as stated previously.
- Magic: As both witch-in-training and Tuatha Dé Danann-human demigod who recently unlocked her full potential, Lotte possesses considerable skill in magic, with her signature ability being communicating with faeries and spirits as well as synchronizing her magic with that of theirs to access more powerful spells.
- Nullification Spell: With aid of at least one of her allies, Lotte can conjure energy threads to nullify any magic, including ones emanated by immensely powerful beings.
- Metamorphosis Magic: Lotte has average skill in using Metamorphosis Magic.

- Magic Energy Manipulation: Lotte can manipulate magic energy in its pure form to perform various feats such as projecting beams or blasts, illuminating her surroundings, simulating telekinetic force by infusing a bit of the energy into a target, and generating solid constructs out of the energy's tangible form. Most notably, she can form a club around her wand as part of the procedure of casting aforementioned Spirit Realm Transportation Spell and fly via. riding conjured sphere of pure magic. During her Trial of Keiran the Warrior, Lotte combines her divine energy and magic energy to conjure a spear around her wand.
- Magical Expertise and Bilingualism: Though not to the same extent as Diana, Lotte is no stranger to magic-related knowledge including its history and some, if not all of languages involved such as Luna Alphabet.

Her fighting style is stated to emphasize speed and agility over defense and offense, but not necessarily making her a fragile speedster thanks to both her further combat training after becoming the heir of Geirskogul the Courageous Gale Valkyrie title and armor as well as Tuatha Dé Danann-human demigod physiology.
- Skilled Martial Artist: Lotte displayed remarkable skill in hand-to-hand combat techniques known to Triskeles of Keiran.

- Spear of Keiran: A supernatural spear made of silver and oak resin magically processed into amber-like state originally invented by the namesake protégé of Lugh the God of Sun, Craftsmanship, and Law himself. Like its inspiration Spear of Lugh, the weapon is attuned with sunlight thus allowing its wielder to harness solar energy as well as home in on target like guided missile thus always hits its mark and be summoned back. The weapon can also turn into a shortsword for combating enemies in confined spaces. The one Lotte attained after overcoming Trial of Keiran the Warrior happens to be the copy of latest iteration of the weapon crafted in form of wand accessory thus necessitating her to attach it onto her wand in order to unveil its full power.
- Geirskogul Armor: As a Valkyrie, Lotte is given the title of Geirskogul the Courageous Gale Valkyrie. As such, she has the ability to don yellow, silver, and white Geirskogul Armor. She performs this by running her hand against Geirskogul Bracelet while simultaneously chanting out Venta Herkleda, extending a blade of emerald sparks from the Bracelet with which she draws a glowing circle in the air. The circle ignites into a halo of sparks that opens a portal from which Geirskogul Armor equips her, completing her transformation.

- BSoulstone stated that the reason why Lotte's Valkyrie Blade's signature form being a pole weapon is to make up her seemingly lack of physical strength in combat. Initially deciding it to be either a spear of sword-staff, he settled with glaive as per Kat the Indigo Wolf's suggestion out of practicality.
- Also, BSoulstone decided that her surname remained Yanson despite of her canon surname being confirmed to be Jansson in order to differentiate her with her canon counterparts.
